Congratulations!
Congratulations to Angus Allison on his recent haul of 8 Gold Medals at Scottish National Age Group Championships, Felix Hale who made 3 finals as did Ines Donald. Cameron Alexander, Michael Skakle, Daniel Ritchie who qualified for the heats. A mention also for John Mander, Joshua Mitchell and Danny Penman who took part in the relays.

Club Captains, Warm Weather & Newcastleton Camps
Three little pieces of news just for you... Firstly, congratulations go to Angus Skakle and Charlotte Drainer who have been named Club Captains for the forthcoming year. We are also glad to let you know that the Performance Squad are going on a Warm Weather Camp in February 2018 to Torremolinos - this camp has now been officially booked so get your passports ready! Plus, we have also provisionally booked the Intermediate Swimmers Camp in April to Newcastleton - it might not be abroad but you might be lucky and get some summer sun!

★☆ Jans Year to Remember ☆★
It is not very often that we speak about or celebrate our Masters swimmers who train in their own time for their own goals. It's even better to hear of their achievements and Jan Naylor has made 2015 a truly amazing year!
In April 2015, Jan broke the Scottish 100mtrs Butterfly record at the Scottish National Masters Short Course Championships at Tollcross with a time of 2:07.90. At the same meet Jan went on to compete in the 200mtrs Butterfly and finished in 4:34.66 - the first woman in her age group (70+) to complete the distance and so achieved another Scottish record.
Word of Jans two records spread locally and after nominations, Midlothian Council presented Jan the Senior Sports Personality of the Year award in their Annual Sports Awards held on Friday 30th October. The Provost Joe Wallace, presenting the awards on the night, said: "It’s an honour to present these awards to so many inspirational athletes as well as those who coach or volunteer. The dedication and commitment you show to your chosen sport is wonderful. You are all a credit to Midlothian. Well done to everyone. You are all sporting heroes.
On a more personal note, as well as Jans achievements in swimming at the ripe old age of 70, along with husband Alan, they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in July with family and friends.

Vote for Inverleith ASC to win £1,000 of Simply Swim Vouchers
The voting is now open for the Swim Club Awards 2015! All you need to do now is follow the link to the voting page, choose Inverleith ASC from the drop down list, enter your email address and submit your vote! Voting for the winning club will close on the 2nd October 2015. The lucky winners will then be announced on all Simply Swim social media pages on the 5th October 2015 and will receive £1000 worth of Simply Swim vouchers to spend on swimwear and equipment for their club!

Save The Date: Saturday 7th March 2015
Make sure you have Saturday 7 March at 7.30pm in your diary for the Annual Club Dance. Any swimmers who came 1st, 2nd or 3rd in their age groups at the Club Championships will be presented with a medal that evening so should ensure that they and their parents attend.
For the past two years the Presentation Dance has been massively over subscribed so this year is moving to the larger, more central and more easily accessible venue of Heriot's Rugby club on Goldenacre. All swimmers are welcome, whatever their age or ability and whether or not they have entered competitions.
All members of Inverleith Swim Club get free tickets which includes disco and buffet but we would love the whole family to be there. The dance floor is dominated by the younger members but parents have been known to stage a dance off on occasion! Tickets for parents and siblings are #pound;6.00 each. There will also be a raffle.
This is our main social event of the year and a great opportunity for swimmers to get together outside the pool, for parents to get to know each other and for everyone to see the coaches wearing something other than shorts and T shirts! We have had some great results this year and with the East Districts this weekend and Scottish Schools later in the month we will hopefully have even more to celebrate by March.
Tickets will be on sale during training sessions. Ask your coach or Kathy for more information.

New Website Launches
Edinburgh based Amateur Swimming Club, Inverleith ASC, have today launched their new website; www.SwimInverleith.com. The new site design provides online visitors with dramatic improvements in navigation, appearance and accessibility. Regularly updated the new Inverleith ASC website is worthy of bookmarking for regular visits by anyone looking for the latest swimming news and information.
The new website has a dedicated section for each of the clubs’s three core industries:
- Learn to Swim
- Club Swimming
- Masters Swimming
The site has a logical architecture, making it easy for users to navigate, is packed full of relevant functionality and boasts engaging design and imagery. Users can easily navigate to the information they are seeking.
A spokesperson from design partner, GXMedia comments: “The new Inverleith ASC website shows off their passion and ability for sports education and training. It will enable existing and future members to find exactly what they are looking for with ease. By engaging with swimmers more intelligently, the club can only go from strength to strength. The new design looks brilliant and we’ve already had great feedback from visitors.” The new website will continue to be developed over the coming months, so watch out for new features and functionality.
