WELCOME TO THE NOVEMBER NEWSLETTER

Hello and welcome to another Newsletter. This month has been busy again for our swimmers, competition reports to follow.

A few reminders for everyone:

Tombola donations for the Club Championships can be brought on the day unless already given to the Perry's at Int 1 training.

Final payments for the Warm Weather Camp are due to be paid in full by 30 November.

Could Club Championship trophies and shields be returned to Marion Buchanan (Finaly & Innes Penman's Mum Int 2) during December polished please.

COMPETITIONS

CARNEGIE WINTER OPEN MEET
27^TH & 28^TH October, 2018

Congratulations to all the swimmers who were accepted for this meet as it is oversubscribed by quite a lot so getting your swims is great. There was quite a variety of events from 50F/C to 400’s. There were finals for the 50F/C & the 100’s but everything else was a ‘heat declared winner’.

Hilary Alexander covered the Saturday sessions & I did the Sunday ones. On Sunday we had 17PB’s & the following swimmers were placed up to 8^TH as this is an 8 lane pool.

LOTHIAN GRADED MEET
10^TH November, 2018

This is a super meet which gives swimmers the chance to take part in heats & the top six for each age group swim in a final. We had 12 swimmers in the morning session & 15 in the afternoon. Our swimmers managed a total of 38 PB’s & 17 swims in finals with another 3 who were reserves for finals. We also had some great racing with swimmers pushing themselves right to the end of the race. Not everyone can PB all the time but we can race well.

INTERNAL COMPETITION

The Gavin Fulton Relay event went extremely well! Organising 94 swimmers and including two swims each was a major task so thanks to all who organised and helped out on the night. Well done to the winners and thanks to the Fulton family for being there to present the trophies to the winning team!
